Rainy Days and Scorpions

We finally had a rainy day which we have not had in months. I had no idea how dry it was out here. Will was so excited to put on his rain coat and boots and get wet! On our way out the door, Daddy noticed this lovely creature.

A scorpion! I'm so happy that he was still home because I can't stand to even look at these things. It was barely alive but still squirming around. They always seem to come out after the exterminator comes. I found one last month in the baby's room in a pile of blankets!

Will did get to enjoy some puddle jumping finally before we headed out for the day. It was something exciting for him in what is turning out to be a long summer for both of us. We are both looking forward to school starting and some sort of routine. I think I've tried all of the indoor play places in the city in an attempt to stay cool and wear him out. Not an easy thing to do!!
